AL Cisternes or ALC
is a Rugby club whose main SENIOR M1 team plays in Regional 3 - Territorial Championship in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes league. It is located in the Puy-de-Dôme department (63). A village of nearly 500 inhabitants with 250 members.
A group of merry fellows met by chance one morning in March 1974 with the bizarre idea of creating a rugby team in Cisternes-la-Forêt. An improbable thing for the time!!! What followed would prove otherwise.

1977-1978 season
First participation in the 32nd final of the “French Championship” 4th series
ALC meets MONTREVEL EN BRESSE on the REGNY pitch

1994-1995 season
ALC wins the first title of “Champion d’Auvergne” 3rd series in its history.   1995-1996 season
For the second consecutive year, the yellow and blacks won the final of the “Champion
from Auvergne » 2nd series

2000-2001 season
The ALC players are “Champions of Auvergne” 2nd series

2006-2007 season
The yellow and black are “Champion of Auvergne” 3rd series

2008-2009 season
The ALC rugby players are Auvergne "2nd series" champions. They won the title against the PUY GUILLAUME club. For the first time in its history, the club won the 32nd final of the "French Championship" 2nd series against the STAINS club (Paris region). The ALC did not stop there, the yellow and black won the 16th final of the "French Championship" 2nd series against the VERDUN SUR DOUBS club (Burgundy region). Unfortunately, the club ended its season in the 8th final of the "French Championship" 2nd series against the MONTARGIS club.
